Follow up to your hearing test

Hearing is tested on two parameters : One is the ability to detect sounds (audiometry) and the second is the ability to understand speech.

The former you sampled in the online test that you performed. While the results do give a fair idea of what might be going on, they do not sum up the absolute deficit one may be experiencing.

Often enough there is a bigger problem with word and sentence intelligibility than a mere lack of hearing certain sounds. To comprehensively test that aspect, one requires tools for testing speech discrimination.
